Graffiti on da house?!

I'm watching you...

Digital Graffiti "a celebration of international digital artistry...showcasing the fusion of design, technology and architecture. An event that organizers call the world's first projection art festival. Digital artists from around the world will show off their works by projecting them on Alys Beach buildings' white walls during the festival".

On our last evening in Florida, we got to enjoy this new experience. At first, I thought it would literally look like the graffiti you see on the streets, but it was more like an art gallery being projected on homes. I'm not even really sure how to explain it, some were interactive, others just very colorful/sparkly, photography projections, etc. Even more, it was as if the community had been built for this. The white, gorgeous, pristine homes were the ideal canvas. We walked around and took in the sights.

Below is a video that will do it more justice than photos:

Also related to art and design, we've been working on our save the date's and wedding website! We found a design that we really liked on Etsy and are working with the designer to help us customize it. It's papel picado inspired:

Speaking of which, a while back I told you that I had made a couple gifts on the aforementioned site, that turned out really nicely. "Between Everything" (Brooke Witt) customizes city skylines and also maps for any occasion. We gave it to some friends as a thank you for letting us stay in their apartment and also as an engagement gift. Some examples:

In other news, we also booked a DJ (he's Puerto Rican)! He's actually the first one we met, back at a bridal expo that we went to and he seemed great. After much research, we could not find a single reason not to book him (just like the Rabbi)! Two most important questions for us: Do you speak Spanish? How many Shakira songs do you have? If only everything in life were that simple.

Happy 1st day of summer! Heat advisory issued here in DC today and tomorrow (97° now)...

  1. Oh, how wonderful 97 degrees sounds. High over 100 predicted here for the next five or six days, including one crazy forecast I saw that said we are going to hit 108 one day. Luckily they don't all say that. =0) Looks like an excellent way to end your awesome Florida trip!!
