BEST DAY

My dad, aka Sergie/Pa came to town! It was the perfect 21 hours.

Matt and I went to pick him up at Baltimore airport yesterday and then we all came back to our apartment. We dropped off my dad's stuff, showed him around our palatial home and roof/swimming pool (pic to the right) and then went to dinner. We walked to 'Front Page', a restaurant in our neighborhood that has surprisingly delicious food. After that, we came home and played Rock Band. Yes, you read correctly. Matt on the guitar, my dad on the drums and me on the microphone. We jammed to the Beatles. Then, buenas noches. My two favorite men with me under one roof!

This morning we woke up bright and early and decided to go into DC (only a 9 minute metro ride) and explore a little. We walked around the White House and many other beautiful and interesting buildings/statues that remain unknown for now. Note to self, buy DC guide book, so that we can properly show our guests around. We ended up having breakfast at the Old Ebbitt Grill, a historic restaurant established in 1856, it was a favorite of Presidents Grant, Cleveland, Harding and Roosevelt. The Ocampo's had decadent peach french toast and the Osher had a delicious egg and chorizo burrito.

After much walking, we were able to also squeeze in a movie before my dad's flight back to Orlando. We went to see 'The American' with George Clooney, which was not what we expected, but nonetheless completed my perfect day.

Would not have changed a thing, we had a fabulous time. Well, the only other thing I could wish for...was that this happened every weekend or that my family lived here too.

Most perfect re-employment gift a girl could ask for.
