New Baby

Our TV had a baby today, it was a joyous and unexpected moment. After a difficult morning, the day ended on a very high note. Let me tell you how it all began.

Our alarm clock went off at 6:30am, which is not a pleasant sound on a holiday. We were off to the DMV, we had been trying for a few weekends, but there was always an issue. We figured today was the perfect day, they were open on Labor Day to make up for all of the issues they had been having. The first problem was finding everything you have to bring with you (in order to get our cars titled + registered and get our new drivers licenses), papers, papers and more papers. Once we compiled all of that, we were on our sleepy and merry way. We got there and the wait was not long, it was honestly DMV heaven. They called our number before we even finished filling out our paper work. All too good to be true at the DMV, right? Well, you are RIGHT. We left empty handed because we were missing the following, which the website failed to mention: proof of car emission and inspection from Texas (do you ever get proof, other than a sticker?), proof of drivers license issue date (see, Texas failed to put an issue date on licenses for a long time and now it is our fault, because VA requires that information and it could not be found in the database) and last but not least, proof of address (which sounds straight forward, but they refused to accept anything I brought). Anyways, we have to go back next weekend, which of course will be very busy and miserable.

After that we came home, had a second breakfast and went to Univision. This visit was great, Matt got to meet all of my old colleagues and see the place where I worked in 2006. Lucky for us (not them) they had to work today, so it was the perfect moment for them to finally meet Matt and vice versa. This was very fun, the only minor issue we had, was getting stuck in the elevator. Yes, we were trying to get to the penthouse of the building so that Matt could see the stunning view and the elevator decided to remain on the 7th floor and not move, despite pressing every other button, the doors open button and the alarm. Don't worry, we are not still there. We were rescued.

Feeling defeated and exhausted by noon we decided to go have lunch. It so happened that we ate right next to a Best Buy aka 'labor and delivery', where they were having marvelous TV sales. Due to the fact that my mom will be residing in our living room as of next week and that is where Matt's 60 inch baby also sleeps, we thought it might be time for another baby in the house. This is when our TV's water broke and she started pushing, she was very brave. The most beautiful and healthy 32 inch baby came out. Yes, a little big for a newborn, but she is lovely and will be sleeping in our room for the time being.

If I may say so myself, a good end to a long day. Off to work tomorrow.

P.S: Happy birthday to my great grandmother Estelle who is 94 years old today!
