I felt like a little kid in a toy store the other night, as I stood in awe admiring everything about a holiday party, at a hotel where our VIP visitors often stay. The former White House Executive Chef Walter Scheib was the caterer and he was "sampling a unique array of culinary delights". Of course, the food was spectacular - crab cakes (apparently more than 20,000 are eaten every year at the White House, during the holiday season), shrimp, pulled pork sandwiches, crab quesadillas, ceviche, mini BLT's, white chocolate macaroons and the list goes on. I felt ridiculous trying to take a picture on my phone, but I wanted to try and show you the bar made ENTIRELY of ice and also the pretty ball ornaments hanging from the ceiling (seems like such an easy and cheap way to spruce up a place, don't you think?) There were goodie bags waiting at the exit, for all 200 guests, which had a customized bottle of mulled wine inside.
